Study ASE for Free

Last updated: October 2, 2026

The Short Version

We write our own ASE practice questions. We are not ASE and we are not connected to ASE. Nothing here guarantees you will pass anything.

Premium is a one-time purchase. There is no login — your access lives in a cookie in the browser you bought it on, so clearing your cookies or switching devices will lose it. Keep your receipt and we will do our best to put it back for you.

All sales are final. Don't copy or resell the questions. The full detail is below, and it controls.

Privacy & Data

Who We Are

Study ASE for Free (“Study ASE for Free,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the website at studyaseforfree.com (the “Site”). We are an independent educational resource. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise connected to the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), Prometric, or any official ASE testing center.

This page contains both our Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service. By using the Site you agree to both.

Information We Collect

We collect limited information to operate the Site and improve your experience:

  • Usage and analytics data — pages visited, approximate location, device and browser type, referring page, and time on site, collected through Google Analytics. See the Analytics section below.
  • Cookies — small files stored in your browser. See the Cookies section below.
  • Payment information — if you purchase premium content, your payment is processed directly by Stripe, Inc. We never receive or store your full card number, bank details, or payment credentials on our servers. Stripe's handling of your payment data is governed by Stripe's own privacy policy.
  • Email address — if you choose to provide it, for example to receive your results or study tips. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • Correspondence — if you email us or use the feedback form, we retain that message so we can respond.

We do not knowingly collect government identification numbers, financial account numbers, health information, or other sensitive categories of personal information, and we ask that you do not send them to us.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Site uses cookies for the following purposes:

  • Premium access cookie — when you purchase premium content, we store a signed cookie in your browser recording which subjects you have unlocked. This cookie is what grants you access. It contains no payment information and no personal information. Please read Premium Purchases and Access in the Terms below, which explains the practical consequences of access being stored this way.
  • Analytics cookies — set by Google Analytics to measure how the Site is used.
  • Advertising cookies — if and when advertising is served on the Site, advertising partners may set their own cookies. See Advertising below.

Most browsers let you refuse or delete cookies through their settings. Doing so will not stop you from using the free portions of the Site, but it will remove your premium access cookie and therefore your access to premium content.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as pages viewed, session duration, approximate geographic location, and device and browser characteristics, and transmits that information to Google, which may store and process it on servers outside your country.

We use this information only in aggregate, to understand which pages are useful and where the Site needs work. We do not use it to identify individual visitors.

You can prevent Google Analytics from collecting your data by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, available from Google, or by blocking analytics cookies in your browser settings. Google's use of data it collects is governed by Google's own privacy policy and terms.

Advertising and Third-Party Services

The Site may display advertisements served by Google AdSense or other third-party advertising networks. These networks may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, or similar technologies to serve advertisements based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more about how Google uses data from sites that use its services, and manage your ad personalization settings, through Google's own privacy and advertising policy pages.

We do not control, and are not responsible for, the privacy practices or data handling of third-party advertisers, advertising networks, payment processors, or any other third party. Their own privacy policies govern the information they collect, and you should review those policies directly.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site and its content;
  • grant and verify access to premium content you have purchased;
  • process payments through our payment processor;
  • respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests;
  • send you content or updates you specifically asked to receive;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of these Terms; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except service providers who help us operate the Site (such as our payment processor and analytics provider), where you have asked us to, or where we are required to by law or valid legal process.

Data Retention

We keep information only as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as long as required by law. Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics settings. Correspondence is retained so we can handle follow-up questions. You may ask us to delete an email address or correspondence we hold by contacting us at the address below, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect information transmitted through the Site, including serving the Site over HTTPS and cryptographically signing the premium access cookie so it cannot be altered. However, no method of transmission over the internet and no method of electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot and do not guarantee the absolute security of any information, and we expressly disclaim any such guarantee to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Children's Privacy

The Site is intended for adults and for students enrolled in automotive training programs. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, contact us at the address below and we will delete it.

Your Choices and Rights

You can:

  • refuse, block, or delete cookies through your browser settings, understanding that deleting cookies will remove your premium access;
  • opt out of Google Analytics as described above;
  • unsubscribe from any email you receive from us using the link in that email; and
  • ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you by contacting us.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. We will honor rights that apply to you under applicable law. To exercise any of them, contact us at the address at the bottom of this page.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be reflected on this page. Your continued use of the Site after a change takes effect means you accept the revised policy.

Terms of Service

Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service are a binding agreement between you and Study ASE for Free. By accessing or using the Site, by taking any practice test, or by purchasing premium content, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by the Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Site.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old, or be at least 13 and using the Site with the consent and supervision of a parent, guardian, or instructor, to use the Site. You must be 18 or older to make a purchase. By making a purchase you represent that you are 18 or older and legally able to enter into this agreement.

License and Use of Content

All practice questions, explanations, study material, text, layout, design, graphics, and code on the Site are the property of Study ASE for Free and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use the Site and any premium content you have purchased, solely for your own personal, non-commercial study.

You may not, and may not permit anyone else to:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, distribute, display, sell, rent, license, or otherwise make the content available to any other person;
  • use the content to build, train, or improve any dataset, machine learning model, artificial intelligence system, question bank, or competing product;
  • scrape, crawl, harvest, index, or extract content from the Site by automated means, or use any bot, spider, or similar tool on the Site;
  • use the content for classroom, institutional, commercial, or group instruction without our prior written permission;
  • share, resell, or transfer premium access to any other person;
  • circumvent, disable, reverse engineer, or interfere with any security, access control, or payment mechanism on the Site, including the premium access cookie; or
  • remove, obscure, or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary notice.

We reserve all rights not expressly granted. Any use outside this license terminates it immediately and may be a violation of copyright law. If you are an instructor or a school and want to use this material with students, contact us — we are glad to talk, but you need written permission first.

Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to use the Site to: violate any law or regulation; infringe anyone's intellectual property or privacy rights; transmit malware or harmful code; attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Site, its servers, or any related system; impose an unreasonable load on our infrastructure; or interfere with any other person's use of the Site. We may suspend or terminate your access at any time, without notice and without refund, if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms.

Premium Purchases and Access

Premium content is unlocked through a one-time purchase processed by our third-party payment provider. Prices are listed on the Site at the time of purchase.

Please read this carefully, because it describes how your access actually works.

There is no account and no login. When your payment succeeds, we place a cookie in the browser you purchased from. That cookie is what unlocks your premium content. It is set to last up to five years.

This means:

  • Your access is tied to the specific browser on the specific device you purchased from. It will not follow you to another phone, tablet, or computer, and it will not follow you to a different browser on the same device.
  • If you clear your cookies or browsing data, use private or incognito mode, reset or replace your device, or use software that deletes cookies, your access will be lost.
  • Because there is no account, there is no username or password to recover and no automated way to restore access.

By purchasing, you acknowledge and accept that access is delivered and maintained in this way, and that losing access for any of the reasons above is not a defect, not a failure of delivery, and not grounds for a refund or chargeback.

That said, we are reasonable people. If you lose access and you can show us proof of purchase — your Stripe receipt or the email address used — contact us and we will do our best to restore it manually. This is offered as a courtesy, at our discretion, and is not a guarantee or a contractual obligation.

We strongly recommend you keep your purchase receipt.

Refunds

Premium content is digital and is delivered immediately upon payment. For that reason all sales are final and we do not offer refunds, except where a refund is required by applicable law, or where we choose to grant one at our sole discretion.

You will not receive a refund because you did not pass an ASE examination, because you disagree with an answer or explanation, because you lost access for any of the reasons described in Premium Purchases and Access above, or because you changed your mind after accessing the content.

If you believe you were charged in error or charged more than once, contact us before initiating a chargeback and we will look into it promptly. Initiating a chargeback without contacting us first may result in permanent termination of your access.

Nothing in this section limits any statutory right of withdrawal, cancellation, or refund that applies to you and cannot be waived under the law of your country or state.

Promotional Codes and Discounts

We may from time to time offer promotional codes, student codes, or discounts. Any such code is offered at our sole discretion and may be limited in scope, limited in number, limited in time, modified, suspended, or withdrawn at any time without notice. Codes have no cash value, may not be sold, transferred, or combined with other offers unless we say so, and may not be reproduced or distributed publicly without our permission. We may void a code and the access obtained through it if we believe it has been obtained or used improperly.

Price Changes and Availability

We may change our prices, our content, and the features of the Site at any time. Price changes do not apply retroactively to purchases already completed. We may add, modify, or remove practice tests, questions, explanations, and features, and we may suspend or discontinue any part of the Site, at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee that the Site, or any particular content, will remain available indefinitely.

No Guarantee of Certification Results

Study ASE for Free provides independently created practice questions and study materials for educational purposes only. We do not guarantee that use of this Site, including any free or premium practice test, will result in passing any official ASE certification examination or any other examination.

Practice questions on this Site are written by us. They are not official ASE examination questions, are not sourced from ASE, are not reviewed or approved by ASE, and may differ from the content, format, weighting, or difficulty of the actual examination. Content area names, weightings, and task references are our interpretation of publicly available ASE study guide material and may not reflect the current examination.

Scores, percentages, content-area breakdowns, question-type breakdowns, pacing information, and any other analytics the Site produces are estimates generated from our own practice questions. They are not predictions of your performance on a real examination and should not be relied on as such.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Study ASE for Free and its owners and operators disclaim any and all liability for examination outcomes, including examination failure, examination fees, retest fees, lost wages, lost employment, lost opportunity, or any other consequence arising from use of this Site's content. Use of this Site, including any purchase of premium content, is undertaken at your own discretion and risk.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and may rely on third-party services including payment processing, analytics, advertising, and hosting. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, availability, policies, or practices of any third party. Links are provided for convenience only and do not imply endorsement. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that third party.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ON IT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, accuracy, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage of trade.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free; that defects will be corrected; that the Site or its servers are free of viruses or harmful components; or that any content, question, explanation, task reference, content-area weighting, or analytic result is accurate, complete, current, or reliable. You are solely responsible for verifying any information before relying on it, including against official ASE materials and manufacturer service information.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STUDY ASE FOR FREE AND ITS OWNERS, OPERATORS, CONTRACTORS, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, WAGES, EMPLOYMENT, OPPORTUNITY, DATA, OR GOODWILL, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Site, any content on it, any examination outcome, any loss of premium access, or any act or omission of a third party, whether based in contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, or any other theory, and whether or not we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising out of or related to the Site or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you actually paid us in the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) twenty-five United States dollars (US$25.00).

You acknowledge that these limitations are a fundamental basis of the bargain between us, and that we would not provide the Site at these prices without them.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the limitation or exclusion of liability for certain damages, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Study ASE for Free and its owners, operators, and contractors from and against any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, cost, or expense, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, your violation of any law, or your infringement of any third party's rights.

Governing Law and Venue

These Terms and any dispute arising out of or related to them or the Site are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules. You agree that the exclusive venue for any dispute that is not resolved informally will be the state or federal courts located in Bexar County, Texas, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

If you are a consumer resident in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally or to the protection of mandatory consumer rules, nothing here removes that right.

Dispute Resolution

Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, you agree to contact us at the address below and give us thirty (30) days to resolve the issue informally. Most problems can be sorted out in a single email.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, any claim must be brought in your individual capacity and not as a plaintiff or class member in any purported class, collective, or representative proceeding. Any claim arising out of or related to the Site or these Terms must be brought within one (1) year after the claim arose, or it is permanently barred, except where applicable law requires a longer period.

General

Severability. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, that provision will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in full force.

No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.

Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your premium access. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Entire agreement. These Terms and the Privacy Policy above are the entire agreement between you and Study ASE for Free regarding the Site, and supersede any prior understanding.

Survival. The sections covering License and Use of Content, Refunds, No Guarantee of Certification Results, Disclaimer of Warranties, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law and Venue, and Dispute Resolution survive any termination of your access.

Changes to These Terms

We may revise these Terms at any time. The “last updated” date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Changes take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Site after that point means you accept the revised Terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the Site.
